Does Coolsculpting really work?
Yes! You can freeze your fat away using the proven CoolSculpting technology. CoolSculpting Mississauga will help you define body contours, and shape your silhouette without surgery or downtime.
Tired of your muffin top or love handles?
Are you eating right and exercising, but still can’t get rid of stubborn fat on your stomach and flanks?
Ask any fitness professional, and they will agree: there is no such thing as “spot reducing”. In other words, you can’t target any one area when trying to lose weight.
Luckily we have a solution: Coolsculpting!
At Dr. Karen O’Neill Cosmetic Dermatology we use CoolSculpting! With CoolSculpting you can target those areas that have resisted diet and exercise. CoolSculpting is safe, effective and non-surgical. And the results are long lasting.
What is CoolSculpting? This Health Canada approved device uses cold to safely and permanently kill fat cells. This process is call cryolipolysis, and was invented by scientists at Harvard University.
The dead fat cells are gradually removed by your immune system and the liver!
Who is a Good Candidate for CoolSculpting?
If you have pinchable fat (under the skin or subcutaneous fat), are within about 30 lbs of your ideal weight, and have realistic expectations then CoolSculpting may be the answer. You must not be pregnant. We can not treat near a hernia.
What are the best areas for CoolSculpting?
The most common areas we treat are your tummy, hips, outer and inner thighs, upper arms, bra-line or back fat, and double chin fat.
What kind of results can I expect with CoolSculpting?
You can expect a 20 -25% reduction in pinchable fat. The improved contour takes a couple months to occur.
How long does CoolSculpting take?
We have the newest CoolSculpting technology, called CoolAdvantage. A cycle with our machine takes only 35 minutes.
How much does CoolSculpting usually cost?
The short answer: it depends. The cost is determined by the number of cycles you need to achieve your body shaping goal. The type and number of CoolSculpting cycles you will require depends on:
- The amount of pinchable fat
- The number of areas you wish to target
- Your objective. Do you want your jeans to fit better? Do you want to rock a bikini?
We offer a complimentary CoolSculpting consultation. We will plan a 360° transformation and assess all areas that can be helped with CoolSculpting technology. Everyone’s body is different. Based on your body type and shape, we create customized treatment plan just for you.
How much weight do you lose after CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is NOT for weight loss. You will lose inches and your clothes will fit better. In simple terms, fat does not weigh a lot. I explain to patients that the weight of a pocket of fat is similar to the weight of a bag of cotton balls. We do weigh you before you begin your CoolSculpting Mississauga treatments as a baseline. We will weigh you again at your 3 month follow up visit. Although the results of CoolSculpting are not dependent on diet and exercise, you must maintain your weight to continue to see your transformed contours.
What are the negative effects of CoolSculpting?
Because CoolSculpting is non-invasive and non-surgical, there are very few risks and side effects. During your CoolSculpting Mississauga treatment, you will feel a tugging and cooling sensation. Following your cycle, you may feel mild discomfort while the CoolSculpting technician performs a prescribed 3-minute massage. The targeted area looks red immediately after treatment and may appear slightly swollen and feel achy for a couple of days. This is normal and typically lasts under one week. Some patients experience numbness in the treated area for a few days. Bruising is uncommon with our new CoolSculpting Advantage technology.
If you have cryoglobulinemia or other rare disorders of cold, you are not a candidate for CoolSculpting.
What should you not do after CoolSculpting?
Patients can resume their normal activities, including returning to work and exercise, right after treatment with CoolSculpting.
Which is better liposuction or CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is the #1 non-surgical way to reduce fat. Unlike liposuction, there is no need for general anesthesia, no incisions, and no downtime. At my clinic, patients have the peace of mind that comes with being treated under the supervision of an experienced, Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons certified dermatologist.
CoolSculpting benefits include:
- Comfort. Many patients read, look at their mobile device or nap during treatment
- Advanced technology. CoolSculpting precisely targets fat cells with controlled cooling, without damaging your skin or other tissues
- Convenient and effective. This outpatient procedure is performed in our Mississauga clinic near Oakville. It remains the most popular nonsurgical method to freeze fat because it works!
How do I get the best results from CoolSculpting?
- Be patient. It takes on average 3-4 months to see the full results of your CoolSculpting Mississauga treatment. There are some patients who continue to see improvement at 6 months post treatment.
- Maintain a healthy weight. If you gain weight following CoolSculpting, the remaining fat cells in the treatment area will enlarge.
- Keep moving. Exercise to help maintain your healthy weight, and keep your muscles toned, and your body fit.
- Choose O’Neill Cosmetic Dermatology: a CoolSculpting certified practice.
